Citing Borsen-Zeitung in german Handelsblatt reported online that German mobile phone operator Freenet plans to concentrate on new products as well as gaining customers in order to expand its revenue in 2013
CFO Joachem Preisig told Borsen-Zeitung that Freenet aims to lift turnover to EUR 3.3 billion this year, beyond which it is targeting 1-2% organic growth per year. In 2012, revenue fell to EUR 3.09 billion from EUR 3.27 billion. The number of customers, however, rose by 4.7% to 8.5 million.
Joachem Preisig stated that his plans to drive up revenue will come from accessories and service, in order to reduce dependency on its core business of retailing airtime and data bought in from the four network operators and repackaged.
Freenet will concentrate on its own shops and the sale of applied Smart services such as remote heating control via smartphone.
