French Labour Union FO says French MVNO Auchan will close

Auchantelecom-FEATOn the 5th of July, at the central committee meeting, french supermarket group Auchan and the French labour union FO had discussed plans for the closure of the french MVNO division.

Auchan Telecom, is an MVNO which uses SFR’s network, and over the last five years the company has been unable to make a profit.

The FO union said in a statement “Management therefore proposes ceasing the mobile business and selling the customer base to a market player”

Around 15 employees at the company’s site in Villeneuve d’Ascq will be transferred within the group, while 40 outsourcing jobs will also be affected.

Four of the company’s five unions have accepted the plan put forward by management, which expects the operation be completed in the fourth quarter.
