In the latest report published by Omea Telecom‘s fixed broadband service provider and full MVNO Virgin Mobile had 1.729 million subscribers for fiscal 2012-2013, adding 11,000 postpaid customers in a year.
Virgin France had 1.36 million postpaid and 365,000 prepaid subscribers at the end of March with its overall turnover increased by 8% to € 560 million in the period, versus a year earlier.
EBITDA decreased to € 24.4 million from € 30 million in 2011-2012 and € 29.1 million in 2010-2011, after six years of negative EBITDA.
Operational EBIT was €14.8Million, while last year the companies ARPU was €22.9 p/mnth and this year it increased by 7% to € €24.40 a month.
Capital expenditure decreased to € 16.1 million, compared to € 25.6 million in 2011-2012 and € 8.1 million in 2010-2011.
Pascal Rialland, the CEO of the company has said; “Virgin Mobile France would continuing to follow its unbundeled operator model, and the company will be focusing on its core network with the installation of equipment for its interconnect to Orange France’s network”.
Currently the company uses SFR’s network, and with the connection to Orange, Pascal Rialland believes that “Virgin may be the first MVNO in Europe, and maybe the world, to use more than one base station network, giving its subscribers optimal quality and coverage”.
