After ten consecutive months of decline, mobile telephony managed to add new lines to the market, with 31,326 new, thanks to the hiring of new lines in the postpaid segment (97,187 numbers), which offset Prepaid losses (20 356 lines) and datacards (45 505).
MVNOs also managed to add 281,247 new registrations.
Meanwhile, Movistar and Vodafone have had a net loss of (199 048 and 57,617 respectively), while Orange and Yoigo remained stable with 6,990 new additions.
Therefore, in late May, the CMT recorded a share of 11.10% (3.4 points more than in May 2011.) This intense competition between operators was reflected through the portability, which in May recorded the second best figure throughout the year, 593 633 exchanges, 80.3% more than in May 2012 and only surpassed by 633,000 January.
For operators, mobile virtual network operators recorded a positive balance of 167 914; Yoigo (2513) and Orange (+936).
Meanwhile, Movistar and Vodafone lost 91,590 and 77 901 respectively.
