The MasMovil group again led Spain’s mobile portability gains in August, a month that saw its brands attract some 53,900 new customers, according to data published by website Xataka Movil. The group’s Yoigo brand gained a total of 22,988 lines, while its MasMovil and Pepephone brands added 19,687 and 9,624 lines respectively. The MVNOs Aire Networks and DigiMobile also had a good month, posting gains of 20,098 and 13,401, said the report.
Spain’s mobile network operators (MNOs) were the main losers from number porting in August. led by Movistar (Telefonica) with net losses of 39,003 even though its Tuenti brand added 4,506 customers. Vodafone shed a total of 25,221 customers despite gains of 4,498 at its Lowi discount division and the Orange group lost an aggregate of 5,031 customers.
